The right clothing turns a cold, miserable day on the water into a great one. Our paddling apparel covers every layer: NRS HydroSkin neoprene, splash and dry tops, paddling pants, gloves, pogies, and Astral water shoes built to drain and grip on wet rock. It's the same gear our instructors and raft guides wear on the river.

How to choose:

  • Dress for the water, not the air: add insulation as water temperatures drop.
  • Base layers: thin neoprene or synthetic layers stay warm when wet; skip cotton.
  • Shell: a splash top blocks wind and spray; a dry top or drysuit keeps you dry in a swim.
  • Feet and hands: sticky-rubber water shoes and neoprene gloves or pogies make cold days comfortable.
